Esperamos en la barra, esperando la nuestra mesa (no teniamos reserva): Preguntemos por una copa de vino. Solo dos vinos disponibles y sin interes: Periquita (tinto) y BSE (blanco) de Jose M. Da Fonseca.
En la carta pregunté por informacion el nombre de la bodega del Madeira presente en la carta. Imposible contestar a mi pregunta. La unica respuesta que hemos tenido fue:
-'Bodega'?
-'Si, bodega, adega, quinta...'
-'Ah! Es de la isla de Madeira'.
-'Vale, gracias!'
Al final pedimos 2 aperitivos: Un Campari (mezclado con zumo de naranja natural. Bastante bien - 6e) y un Cocktail Manhattan (Malo. Sin ningun equilibrio y con 95% de Whisky - 7.5e).
Llegando en la mesa, miramos el menu. Un menu incomprensible traducido del Chino al Portugues con descripcion de los platos minimalista. Para un novato suele ser mas que dificil: Arroz chau-chau, Kau-chi de carne de cerdo, Chu-Cheong fan relleno, ect ect...
Entre un poco menos de 100 platos (de 11e hasta 110e para un Pollo de Pekin asado) eligimos:

-el Arroz 'Chau-chau': arroz con huevos y trozos de panceta. Un plato seco, con panceta dificil de encontrar. 2,70 euros
-Cerdo asado: Cerdo de calidad media, carne seca aunque sea servido con salsa del proprio asado. Mucha cantidad para una persona. 11.50 euros
-'Wok' de pavo, pimienta, cebolla con salsa de pimienta dulce: Buen plato. Bien condimentado y verdura bien de cocion. 11,50 euros.
-Vinos: Gonzalo Byass - Tio pepe (basico) - 5 euros la copa.
Cerrando la cocina a las 23.00 no pudimos pedir postres...
La carta de los vinos:
Menos de 5 vinos por copa. Una carta con mas o menos 30 referencias.
70% de vinos sin gran interes para mi punto de vista y no adaptados a los platos de la carta (sabores agri-dulces, picantes...).
Al final comida pesada, alimentos secos, precios altos y carta de vinos sin gran interes. Es la primera vez que comiamos en el Mandarim y esta claro que no hemos 'descubierto' la mayoria de los platos de la carta pero no me arriesgaria a volver otra vez...
El unico buen punto para mi fue el servicio (rapido con camareros atentos).
